Privacy Policy
How Circa collects, uses, and protects your data as a Philippine student community platform.
1. Information We Collect
When you create a Circa account via Google Sign-In, we collect your name,and profile picture as provided by Google. You may also voluntarily provide course, and a 2×2 profile photo during onboarding.
When you use the platform, we may collect content you create — such as community posts, dormitory listings, marketplace listings, and messages — as well as approximate location data you choose to share.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the Circa platform, to personalize your experience, to verify your student identity, and to enable community features like dormitory discovery, dormmate matching, and hyperlocal feeds.
Your email address is used only to sign you in and send service notifications you choose to receive. We do not use it for unsolicited marketing.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers. Your student ID and verification documents are used solely for the purpose of community trust verification and are not shared with third parties.
We use Supabase as our database and authentication provider, which processes data in accordance with their own privacy and security standards.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us or using the account settings page. Upon deletion, your personal information and content will be removed from our active systems within 30 days.
5. Security
Circa uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Authentication is handled through Supabase and Google OAuth — we do not store raw passwords. Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
6. Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes materially, we will notify users through the platform and update the date above. Continued use of Circa after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
